Turtle
Turtle Mountain is one of the most technical and rewarding riding areas around Revelstoke. Accessed mainly from the Boulder side, Turtle brings you into a huge mix of deep powder, technical tree riding, steep climbs, natural jumps, chutes and open alpine terrain.
What makes Turtle special is the variety. You can spend hours riding tight trees and technical drainages before climbing higher into big open bowls and steep alpine terrain. The Front Turtle, Back Turtle and Kitchen areas all offer a different style of riding, and there are always new lines to discover depending on the snow and conditions.
Turtle is a mountain for riders who like to explore. There are endless drainages, ridges and natural features, and it is easy to leave the main track and find your own line. Some areas can look simple from a distance but become much more technical once you are committed to the climb or drainage.
The terrain is advanced, with steep slopes, avalanche terrain, chutes and technical tree riding. Visibility can change quickly, and knowing how to read the mountain is important. If you have never ridden Turtle before, going with someone familiar with the area is highly recommended.
For experienced mountain riders, Turtle is an incredible playground. Every snowfall can change the mountain and open new lines, making it a place you can ride over and over without feeling like you have seen it all.
Big terrain, deep snow, technical trees and endless lines to explore. Turtle is all about finding your own adventure.
