Eagle Pass

Eagle Pass is one of the most iconic mountains in our riding area, offering endless terrain and access to Copeland, Derrickson, Turtle, Boulder, 19 Miles, and Eagle Pass itself.

The main challenge is getting there early in the season. The trail to the cabin is one of the longest in the area, with the first half following the Perry River at a much lower elevation. Rocks, stumps, and fallen trees along the final FSR section also make early-season access difficult.

Typically, the trail is groomed after New Year’s, depending on snow accumulation and riding conditions.

Eagle Pass is known for its numerous alpine lakes, including Hidden Lake, Guitar Lake, Twin Lake, Grizzly Lake, Seashell Lake, and Perry Lake, along with many more. One of the most exciting adventures is riding from one lake to another and creating a loop that brings you back to the cabin.

There are also dozens of unnamed lakes scattered throughout the area, making navigation essential. Using Gaia GPS is highly recommended, especially when visibility is limited.

Everything is big, steep, and challenging at Eagle Pass. With breathtaking views, towering peaks, and a vast riding area well above 2,000 metres, it offers a truly wild backcountry experience. By mid-winter, significant power and advanced riding skills are required to explore this terrain safely.

First-time visitors should ride with someone who knows the area well and has experience navigating Eagle Pass, like Rémi.
